If you want to change the world, find someone to help you paddle.
— William McRaven

We can't promise to always be the strongest paddlers, but we here at C3 Boulder are always excited to jump in and lend the support we can. These are our paddlers:

Emma "The Big Cheese" Ruffin

Director, C3 Boulder

San Francisco born, DC and Richmond, VA raised, Emma now resides in beautiful Boulder, Colorado as the Director of C3 Boulder: The Climate Culture Collaborative after graduating from CU Boulder in 2014. She employs permaculture principles and Theory U into her everyday work, art and play. In the past she served as a fellow with MIT's Climate CoLab Program, and currently finds her free time filled with scribing, art, gardening, soccer, and volunteering with the Global Shapers Boulder Hub, an initiative of the World Economic Forum driven by 20-somethings dedicated to creating positive change in their communities.

Simon "The Fledgeling" Cann

Simon is going into his third year at Bowdoin College in Maine studying history and sociology. He is a raft guide and an outdoor leader, and feels pretty strongly about climate action if only just for the selfish reason of wanting to continue enjoying the gnarly outdoors. A proud born and raised Boulderite, Simon loves this town, and has lived and breathed its potential to be a community of positive change, serving on the Youth Opportunities Advisory Board throughout high school, and seeing firsthand how many incredible programs there are in the community.
